About
Hi there, I’m Kayt Hoch. I live in Seattle, Washington, and here are a few notes about my weblog - The Pedestrian Crossing.
First off, I find my late start joining the web community a bit embarrassing, even considering I’m not part of the media-player-in-one-ear / wireless-headset-in-the-other generation. And it’s clearly taken me an unconscionably long time to discover that: (a)-the open sociopolitical discourse I thought had vanished from the US has simply moved to the internet, and (b)-some of the best writing and thinking around appear in the pages of blogs (some of them anyway). But so it goes, I’m happy to be here now.
I find it fascinating that digital technology and the internet are reshaping what and how we think, what is deemed to have value, who has a voice, and how those voices get heard. The Pedestrian Crossing gives me a platform from which I can explore a broad range of topics in the context of these observations. I offer it to you as a comfortable place to think and catch your breath—a place where it’s o.k. to still be trying to catch up with all of this. I can’t be the only one.
My objective is simply to offer understandable and interesting additions to the larger conversation. Successful or not, I’m sure you’ll let me know.
